TE 802 Reflection and Inquiry in Teaching Practices I

Presenting my Inquiry project on spelling to my peers
Fall 2008
Instructor: Judy Thompson
Course Description: During my internship in a second grade classroom, I created a spelling unit focusing on beginning spelling patterns. The unit included a focus question, lesson plans, data collection and interpretation for the whole class, a reflection on the results of the unit and my teaching, and a presentation to my peers. Additionally, I performed 3 case studies using a high, a middle, and a low level student. I added differentiation to my lessons based on these particular students' needs. This course helped me to understand the importance of assessment and data collection as well as the value in reflecting on my teaching.
